Date: January Thursday 23rd - Saturday 25th 2020
This is an intensive 3 day carer skills workshop, aimed at equipping clinicians and those supporting families in the care and management of a loved one with an eating disorder. It is based on the successful New Maudsley Model and is complimented by a manual available to all delegates who register. The manual consists of two sections which will help facilitators deliver skills workshops to carers, providing the theoretical background, and case based exercises/examples. Core aspects of Motivational enhancement therapy (MET) will be provided to assist individuals understand the function that the eating disorder serves and to work toward enhancing carer’s personal motivation to effect change, with the aim of increasing success of treatment interventions.
Day One: Motivational Enhancement Model
Day Two: Carers Skills background, and practice.
Day Three: practical aspects and delivery of a Carers group.
Times: 9:30-4.15 pm Thursday & Friday 23/24th January
9:30-3pm Saturday 25th January
CPD Points: 15 in total.
Cost: 350 euro (which includes individual manual and lunch/coffees each day)
