Policies and Procedures
This page contains information on our policies and procedures which we have put in place to ensure we offer you a high standard, secure, and safe environment throughout your time with our service. If you think you have been effected by something covered under one of these policies, or just want to make an enquiry about something they cover, all the information you need is below.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is an EU regulation which came into effect on 25th May, 2018.
GDPR updates existing data protection law. For lots of organisations, including ones like us, GDPR places greater accountability on organisations when collecting, processing, and using your personal information. GDPR gives you greater control over that personal information too.
The GDPR policy notice below explains what information about your child and family we process, why we process the information, who we share the information with, and what your rights are with respect to your personal information.
Under the FOI Act a service user is entitled to apply for access to information not otherwise publicly available. A service user at age 18 and/or the parent(s)/legal guardian(s) of any child or young person attending our service can request access to their medical records held by our CAMHS service.

Up to date FOI details for St John of Gods Community Services Community, including our Mental Health Services FOI Officer, can be found here.
The majority of children/young people, and their families who use our health services experience high standards of care and treatment, benefiting from kindness, dedication and professionalism of the staff who look after them. However, there can be instances where standards of practice can be perceived to fall short of a child’s/young person’s and their family’s expectations. We want to offer the best service possible, and so it is important that there are simple and effective arrangements to deal with these situations.
If you believe your experience has fallen short of what you expected you can contact the complaints officer at the details below. Many find contacting our complaints officer in advance of filing a complaint with us a worthwhile experience and you are welcome to do this if you wish.
