What is CAMHS @ Lucena?

CAMHS stands for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service.  Lucena Clinics are part of St John of God Community Mental Health Services. We are funded by the Health Service Executive (HSE) to provide our service in South Dublin and Wicklow areas. The location of the clinic you attend will depend on where you live and the type of help you require.

In addition to our core clinical teams with experience and expertise in mental health and ADHD, we also have specialist teams like our eating disorder team and our crisis team (called ‘the HUB’).

We provide support to the young people in our catchment area who are under the age of 18. We are a second tier service for those experiencing moderate to severe mental health concerns and/or ADHD. This means that the young people attending are likely to have tried primary care level supports in the past and now require a specialist multi-disciplinary service such as CAMHS.

The St John of God values of hospitality, compassion and respect underpin our work. Like all CAMHS teams across the country, we follow the CAMHS Operational Guideline and procedures set by the Health Service Executive (HSE).

For more information on CAMHS and the services we provide please see our What is CAMHS? section and the HSE’s CAMHS Operational Guideline HERE.
